Wind.app, an innovative fintech startup spearheaded by Hussain Elius, the former CEO and co-founder of Pathao, a renowned ride-sharing platform in Bangladesh, has successfully secured a pre-seed funding of USD 3.8 million. The funding round saw participation from Global Founders Capital, a prominent venture capital firm based in Germany, and Spartan Group, a distinguished blockchain investment firm in Singapore. Other international investors such as Saison Capital, Alumni Ventures, and Tiny VC also contributed to this round.
The startup has developed a ‘self-custody’, ‘smart contract’ digital wallet leveraging polygon blockchain technology. This wallet offers services that simplify cross-border payments, providing users with competitive exchange rates for sending and receiving money worldwide. Furthermore, Wind.app features an on-ramp/off-ramp infrastructure, enabling users to effortlessly transition between crypto and fiat currency. This marks a significant stride in the fintech industry, promising a future where financial transactions are more accessible and efficient.
